Over the weekend a friend of ours had a few of us over to her house for a twenties garden party themed event. We all took it pretty seriously and had a lot of fun! There were obnoxious dresses, headbands, badminton games and so much more. We love a good themed party, they add a nice touch to hanging out with friends.

We both have been getting increasingly into photography as of late. I enrolled in a photography class for the first time this semester and have been really loving it, I am really sad for it to end! Erin has been into photography for quite some time and has proved herself to be quite skilled.

We are both excited to share some of our more recent favorite photographs we have taken and can't wait to keep using this series as an excuse to get better at it!

Are you into photography? Have any advice?

angels & demons

While we were walking out of our dorms to go take outfit pictures yesterday we looked at each other and realized how different our two outfits were. Usually we pride ourselves in how similar we dress, but yesterday was apparently a completely different story. Erin had on all black (earrings, boots, and all) and looked very punkish, while I had on the springiest outfit I could compile from my closet. It was upon seeing each other that we decided the only thing we could possibly call this post was angels and demons (we of course in no way mean to imply that Erin is a demon, she is actually quite the opposite). Perhaps it was also the crappily painted door that looks sort of like a cloudy sky, or the fact that our brains are just completely shot. Who knows!

Just a few more days left of school! Woohoo!

glitter dipped mason jar diy

Untitled

The moving process continues! It feels as though things are slowly coming together. Little decorations pop up here and there even though there are still big blank walls and open spaces left. Over the weekend we made this little glitter dipped mason Jar for my toothbrush. Erin already had spray painted hers, so we wanted to make one that matched.

You'll Need: Mod Podge, painters tape, glitter, a mason jar, a paint brush, and a small bowl.

This ended up being incredibly easy to make. All we did was put a ring of tape around the outside of the jar and mix up a bowl of mod podge and glitter (this prevents you from getting glitter all over your house...). We then painted on the glitter glue mixture, peeled off the tape, and turned it upside down to dry. We think it ended up being really cute! And they look so good next to each other in our bathroom.

We can't wait to see what little decorations we'll think of next. We'll be sure to share them!

what we wore...

...on a Monday. Apparently yesterday we were both in a "blue" mood. Not sadness (though Leah started to feel like she was getting old) but the color. Its funny how we dress so similarly sometimes. Usually it is more similar then just wearing the same color though. Today we both showed up at work with our chambray shirts and dresses on...

Leah: I had my first midlife crisis yesterday. It spurred from getting both the checks I ordered and checking my mail to find the registration for my truck. For some reason this caused me to spiral into an "I'm getting old" freak out that I am sure a lot of you have experienced. We also recently set up our utilities for the apartment which added to it all.

Erin: Even though this week is the home stretch before finals, it is somewhat of a relief! These past few weeks have been crazy and filled with concerts. A lot of the faculty in the music department are going to be on sabbatical next year, my senior year, so it's felt like a lot of "last concerts" even though we still have next year. We had our three big concerts these past three weeks, and I'm pretty sure they were all trying to go out with a bang - because they were pretty extravagant.

We're starting into the last week of class before finals - wish us luck in staying sane!
That's also our excuse if it seems like we're slacking a bit here on e plus l - we're a little busy :)
